Welcome to Saint Bernard's Guide to Lent!

These forty days are filled with amazing opportunities to grow in grace and mercy.

Let's get started.

First, we made Ashes:

We collected palm from last year.
Then we burned them:

This year we burned palm on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday right after the 5pm Mass just before our Mardi Gras celebration.

Thanks to all who came!

So why do we do ashes on Ash Wednesday?

Here are three references:

So when are Ashes Distributed?

7am Mass
9am Mass
12:00 Service
3:30 Service
5:00 Service
7:30 Mass

(The difference between a Mass and a Service is that there is no communion at the Service.)

We'll also be distributing ashes to students at Religious Education Classes that day.

So here's what you'll be asked:

"Will you turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel?"
