St. Bernard is pleased to offer two support groups for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Groups gather for several weeks in the fall and spring of each year. 

A bereavement group for parents who have lost a child meets on the first and third Monday (evenings) of the month in the parish center.

A general bereavement group (for spouses, significant others, adult children who have lost parents, friends) meets on Saturday mornings, also in the parish center.

Anyone interested in joining a group should call Carmen in the Parish Social Ministry office (516) 731-6074 who can share the specific dates and times of the meetings. You will receive a detailed schedule and a registration form to return to the office.  A $25 donation is requested at the time of registration.

Dr. Lou Sabatini, Ph.D. and trained volunteers facilitate the groups. A $25 donation is requested at the time of registration.

In addition, Dr. Sabatini offers a training program for those wishing to start bereavement support in local parishes. Carmen will provide that information to anyone interested.
