How are you experiencing the Holy Spirit in your life today?
How much do you love being part of a parish community?
When you clicked on this link you might have been looking forward to information about our Confirmation program. And yes, we'll get to that. But the program is not the important thing here. Living a faithful life in the Holy Spirit and living a committed life in the church are two "goals" of Confirmation. And the question for already-confirmed parents is: How are you living out your Confirmation here and now? Your example and commitment are what you are passing on to your children, so it's a really important question to grapple with now.

Level 6 is the prerequisite course to be eligible to enter Confirmation Preparation Year I (Level 7) followed by Confirmation Preparation Year II (Level 8).

Here's what we'll be doing to lead your child to a committed life in the Holy Spirit and a lifelong participation in the church:

What happens in Level 6 Pre-Confirmation?

Level Six is a whole new experience for children. They are in middle school. They question things -- maybe not always out loud, but definitely internally. Studies have indicated that it is during this year that quite a number of young people give up believing in God, unless they receive the proper guidance. They don't necessarily give up religion, especially if their families continue to practice their faith, but they come to a conclusion that God is as unreal as other fictional characters from their childhood. They are old enough to read the Bible but cannot figure out how the Bible stories can have divine truth for their lives when the stories seem too unbelievable to be literally true.

Therefore our Level Six program helps children navigate through these dynamics. Our focus on the Bible helps them develop a spiritual life that is open to an ongoing relationship with God. This is a really wonderful and critical year.
