Share your faith!

Not everyone has the talent, time or skills to engage young people in faith formation, but if you think you have the right "stuff" to be a catechist, we'd like to hear from you.

Come for an interview with our director, attend training sessions, review the materials and if you're the right person for this type of ministry, commit to sharing your faith once a week (three weeks a month) with a class of kids.

But there are other ways to share your faith with young people:
• Talk about our parish with your kids' friends -- and your friends. 
• Say "I'll pray for you" when someone tells you of a challenging situation in their life. (And then be sure to pray.)
• "Make a visit" to church with your child before or after Religion Class (or before or after basketball practice) -- just stop in for five minutes to pray to Jesus and encourage your child to do the same. You won't believe what a difference that few minutes will make!
• When something good happens (and something good happens EVERY day) say, "Well THAT was a blessing from God."
• Get in the habit of saying grace before meals,.

Keep Things Safe For our Children

We take safety very seriously. We need hall monitors to be present during religion classes. And yes, when no one is traveling through the hall you can use your smartphone! (Or spend the time praying for our catechists and the kids!) Those who volunteer as hall monitors take the VIRTUS training and sign the Code of Conduct.

Help with Special Events

Throughout the year there may be some activities that need extra helpers.
(Our annual Pageant during Advent is an example.)

We want parents of our older kids to encourage them to sign up for different opportunities to serve in our parish including:

• Working the camera for streaming Masses
• Assisting with the retreats for reconciliation and communion
• Participating in Palm Sunday and Holy Week activities

Look for notices through the year and be prepared to join in when you can.
